Today Adam and I went to the Labor Day Oktoberfest. It really wasn’t all that Oktoberfest like honestly. Adam says I probably would enjoy the Busch Gardens Oktoberfest since I was expecting legions of lederhosen wearing Germans flinging Bratwurst around while clogging to German polka music.
Needless to say, that really wasn’t what was going on there. Other than a few random people wearing the traditional German garb, it was a rather disappointing Oktoberfest. Maybe it would have been more worthwhile if we would have arrived in time to see the weiner dog races.

Those of you who know me, know I’m a huge fan of method products. Actually we use them almost exclusively at home. They’re environmentally friendly, don’t contain any of the harmful and poisonous chemicals that most household cleaners use, and they smell great.
Recently we purchased the new omop and the handle broke shortly after we began using it. I searched the FAQs on their site and found one related directly to this problem. I contacted method and the next day I’m getting a coupon for a replacement.
It’s not every day that a company not only makes great products but also has outstanding customer service. Even though their products are priced at a premium, they’re well worth it.
Anyone need a Pownce invite?
I was always a big fan of the Dark is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper when I was growing up. The books were just amazing fantasy, not as good as Tolkien of course, but good none the less. So I was excited to learn that a movie was coming out based on the series.
Of course after viewing the trailer, I will not be seeing the movie. It looks to me as if they took the name and maybe 5% of the concept of the book and turned it into something completely different and horrible. How disappointing.
On the other hand, Get Smart looks like it will be an awesome movie…
I returned to work this week after taking the first week off of work I’ve had in some time. I have about 300 hours of vacation time if that tells you anything.
Of course after being gone that long from a position where you’re essentially the only one who does that particular role means that you come back to a lot of things. This was certainly no exception. Good news is that I was able to navigate through all few hundred Lotus Notes and see what I needed to get done.
The really good news is that I got a promotion. Very nice and something I was not necessarily expecting right now so it was a great surprise.
To everyone who e-mailed me this week, I should be getting back to you soon now that things are calming down a bit.
This morning Adam and I went on a 20 mile ride through the Rocky River reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. Not only is Cleveland lucky to have a park system unparalleled in the Metroparks, but we’re also very lucky to live only 5 minutes from this wondrous place.
“AT&T is like an overweight slob that’s been given a chance to date a supermodel; if it doesn’t shape up soon, it’ll be easily replaced.” -CNN Article
I would love to get an iPhone, however, I won’t switch back to AT&T for it, it’s just not worth it to me. I’ll wait for the 3rd Gen iPhone when it’s available on T-Mobile.
I created a photo slideshow of the Lakewood 4th of July Parade. Hope you enjoy:
