Not so shocking

It’s always those who are most vehemently against something that have something to hide.

I’m just waiting for good old Dr. Dobson’s and Rev. Falwell’s scandals.

So.Very.Busy.

So I came to my blog and realized I haven’t even posted an entry in the last four weeks. Bad Bryan!

Work’s been crazy busy, this is probably the hardest semester I’ve had in school so far, youth group and choir started again, and we moved.

Today, however, is my relaxing day. I took the day off to go out to lunch and shopping with some friends. I really need to do a better job of taking time off more often…and making sure I don’t check my work email while I’m off.

We’ll leave the light on

Last weekend Adam and I went to Niagara Falls. I had gone there almost once a year but it had been some time since Adam had gone. We also went with two of my friends from work.

I found a really great two-night deal at the Embassy Suites Niagara Falls for an awesome fallsview room which included a dinner voucher and weekend shuttle service around Niagara. To make a long story short, the room they originally gave us wasn’t acceptible, the second room smelled like the Malboro Man had died in it, so in the end we ended up with a Junior Presidential Suite. Other than the room issues at the beginning the hotel was very nice.

We only had one full day there so we spent some time the first evening at the casino and looking at the falls. The next day we went to some of the crazy museums on Clifton Hill, visited a few wineries, and headed up to Niagara On The Lake. It was nice to finally take a little trip somewhere, I really must do it more often.

This week I have a conference for work so I’ll be gone from Monday until Thursday. All I can hope is that the food is good but the conference resort looks promising.

And this Thursday is my confirmation where I’ll officially become a member of the Episcopal Church.

What do you have in that silo?

This Christmas Adam and I went down to be with his family in Virginia. His family is very warm and caring, some may call that “southern charm”, I just call it good people. While we were there we decided to meet up with Jeremiah who was also home for the holidays and have some lunch.

On our way to eat we passed the the factory that was in the process of being expanded for the Thomas Road Baptist Church. I’m not quite sure why Jerry Falwell needs a factory for a church, but it’s his money. I just wonder what he’s keeping in that silo?
