This morning Adam and I went on a 20 mile ride through the Rocky River reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. Not only is Cleveland lucky to have a park system unparalleled in the Metroparks, but we’re also very lucky to live only 5 minutes from this wondrous place.

Bryan,
I’ve always touted the glorious Metroparks. After living in Chicago, whose “Forest Preserves” were a lousy attempt at recreational beauty, and Houston where everything was flat flat flat, I loved moving back to Cleveland. Western New York is one of the most beautiful places I’ve lived (when you get beyond the city borders and find the cool state parks with waterfalls and such), but as far as city or county parks go, it’s terrible. There are potentially great parks here without enough taxation to properly maintain them, so they fall into disrepair and aren’t patrolled well and end up graffiti-filled and sad. Hooray for places like the Metroparks!!
