Anyone need a Pownce invite?

I was always a big fan of the Dark is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper when I was growing up. The books were just amazing fantasy, not as good as Tolkien of course, but good none the less. So I was excited to learn that a movie was coming out based on the series.
Of course after viewing the trailer, I will not be seeing the movie. It looks to me as if they took the name and maybe 5% of the concept of the book and turned it into something completely different and horrible. How disappointing.
On the other hand, Get Smart looks like it will be an awesome movie…
I returned to work this week after taking the first week off of work I’ve had in some time. I have about 300 hours of vacation time if that tells you anything.
Of course after being gone that long from a position where you’re essentially the only one who does that particular role means that you come back to a lot of things. This was certainly no exception. Good news is that I was able to navigate through all few hundred Lotus Notes and see what I needed to get done.
The really good news is that I got a promotion. Very nice and something I was not necessarily expecting right now so it was a great surprise.
To everyone who e-mailed me this week, I should be getting back to you soon now that things are calming down a bit.
Today after church I decided to spend some time taking some shots of Trinity. Some of the shots turned out very well and I plan to enter them into the “Images of Trinity” art exhibit in September to celebrate the Cathedrals centennial.
This morning Adam and I went on a 20 mile ride through the Rocky River reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. Not only is Cleveland lucky to have a park system unparalleled in the Metroparks, but we’re also very lucky to live only 5 minutes from this wondrous place.
“AT&T is like an overweight slob that’s been given a chance to date a supermodel; if it doesn’t shape up soon, it’ll be easily replaced.” -CNN Article
I would love to get an iPhone, however, I won’t switch back to AT&T for it, it’s just not worth it to me. I’ll wait for the 3rd Gen iPhone when it’s available on T-Mobile.
I created a photo slideshow of the Lakewood 4th of July Parade. Hope you enjoy:
I have all the original photos and more in my Flickr gallery.
