I have to laugh every time I see one of those Home Depot commercials. You know the ones where some extremely friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful associate helps the customer. Maybe it’s just every Home Depot I’ve been to, but nothing could be farther from the truth.
To me, most Home Depot associates don’t seem very friendly, almost like they’d rather light themselves on fire than stop to answer a question. And rarely do I find someone knowledgeable about their products. I find more help myself online.
I always thought there was something illegal about false advertising. Oh well, I guess it doesn’t apply to Home Depot.
My heart and prayers go out to all those who were affected by the tragedy at Virginia Tech today. I count myself lucky that one of my very good friends was unharmed in the incident.
So last week was moving week. The actual move date was last Saturday, during the Easter weekend blizzard. Luckily it wasn’t too bad and the movers did a great job just like the last time we used them.
So far it’s rather surreal to actually know that we own a home. After renting for so long, it still sometimes feels as if this belongs to someone else. But I’m sure that will pass soon enough.
I had all last week off just to work on cleaning, unpacking, painting, and shopping for house stuff. Although I must say I got a very good deal at Lowe’s for all my out door yard and garden items.
We painted the dining room and I have to say I’m very pleased with the color. Once we’re finished unpacking in there I’ll be sure to post pictures. Only seven more rooms to paint.

After I arrived at the apartment building after work, I pushed the button to call the elevator. In walks a pizza guy and we both proceed to get on the elevator. Now our elevators in this building have been having quite a few technical issues as of late.
So there I am in the elevator with the pizza guy thinking to myself, “hey, at least if we get stuck, there’s pizza to eat”. He then gets off his floor, the doors close and off I go. When it reaches my floor the doors opened and there I was mid-floor, outer doors closed trapped between floors.
I push the button for another floor, same thing. I did this 3 more times. Darn it, I thought, I wish this would have happened when the pizza guy was here.
I pushed ground and finally I was released from the elevator. Thankfully we’re moving on Saturday.
