Buying a bike is a tricky manuever. I have been tossing about the idea for a while due to my upcoming needs to get from campus to apartment to campus and back again in faster and faster times (thanks to a hectic Summer Session Two Schedule). However, the cost of a bike would be very near equivalent to fueling a car for several months. Apart from the novelty of owning a new bike, I really do not need a brand new bike (or any bike, for that matter - walking has served me well for four years now). Justifying the cost of a $400 road bike is tough, but those iXi's retail at double that.

I feel I must play the devil's advocate on this and offer a dissuasion to this course of action. Unless you bike enough to eventually justify the cost of the iXi, require the portability the bike offers, and have legitimate reason to need a *new* bike, then I hope you will consider other options.
