You should check out the current issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. There is a good article about how Bush consistently falls back on "religious" issues like same-sex marriage whenever he's looking for a boost in approval/votes. The glimmer of hope in the article comes from the author's belief that the religious right is finally beginning to catch-on to Bush's game.

I fully agree with you that the government needs to get out of the marriage business all together. Seems like decades upon decades of political rantings and ravings about the fall of society coming if x gets to mary y could have been prevented if the government would have just kept it's nose out of it to begin with. Poor Jefferson must be spinning in his grave. The world's first 100% secular constitution used as a religious baseball bat to beatdown those darned heathen liberals.

Bry,
Love the suggestion... I miss being able to delve into politics face-to-face! I'm coming to Cleveland at the end of June/beginning of July... will you be around?

I suggest that the government get out of recognizing any domestic relationship and treat everyone like... individuals. All issues of domestic nature should be left to the private sector and lawyers, just as prenuptial agreements are now.
