I found a great new show last night in FX called 30 Days which was created by the guy who made Super Size Me. The gist of the show is to live for 30 days by changing something in your life. The show I saw last night was 30 days of living only making minimum wage and it was very eye opening and really made me realize how impossible that would really be.
I’ve seen that show exactly once, and it was that very episode. I thought it was quite well-done.
It made me think, too, of their obvious advantages… the fact that they found that store nearby with free furniture, the fact that they have good job histories, no kids, etc. Imagine how much harder it’d be without those advantages.
The teacher in me wants to preach about the value of a good education… but I’ll refrain.
